Our printer repair kit arrived this morning, and I installed it into our printer with tender loving care. Print jobs are now whizzing through the print queue, and there are no more splotches on the printouts (thanks to the new fuser)!
Now I just wonder how long this new printer happiness is going to last before the next breakdown...
